Tim McCarthy, Treasurer of McCarthy Family Foundation, was a naval officer for 13 years, serving primarily at sea aboard patrol, oceanographic research and destroyer ship types. After obtaining his MBA, his final tour was as budget analyst for the Chief of Naval Operations. Tim then joined a multinational food company and assumed increasing responsibilities with the seafoods division in finance, resources and production. Together with three other management colleagues and outside investors, he completed a leveraged buyout of the business and, three years later, it’s successful sale to the Pillsbury Company. Tim has served a variety of nonprofit organizations ranging from the San Diego YMCA (Treasurer) to UCLA (Foundation Board Chair).
