Robynn Steffen is executive vice president at the Climate Leadership Initiative (CLI), where she is focused on building an organization that connects philanthropists to the trusted resources they need to take action on climate change—an urgent challenge that touches us all.
Robynn brings more than 15 years of experience in solving complex challenges through strategic philanthropy, policy, partnerships and impact investments. Before joining CLI, Robynn led Omidyar Network’s work to accelerate the growth of the global impact investing movement. In that role, she frequently advised ultra-high-net-worth individuals, family offices and foundations on deploying philanthropic and investment capital to achieve their impact goals. Towards that same end, she serves as board chair of Toniic, a global community of asset owners seeking deeper impact on people and the planet.
Before Omidyar Network, Robynn worked at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, the Clinton Global Initiative, and as the founding executive director of a start-up non-profit accelerating global access to medicines. At each, she dedicated her work to low-income communities around the globe, the same communities we now know will be among the first and worst hit by climate change. Robynn received her J.D. from Yale Law School and holds a BA and an MA in political science from Yale University. She lives in the Bay Area with her husband and two little ones, who remind her each day of the future generations she is fighting for.
