Lee A. Jones

Executive Director, Rural Partners Network; Office of the Under Secretary, Rural Development, United States Department of Agriculture

Lee Jones works closely with federal partners and RPN communities to deliver on the federal government’s commitment to rural America. The RPN is co-led by USDA and the Domestic Policy Council at the White House.

In a federal public service career spanning more than two decades, Lee’s time with USDA Rural Development includes work in the national RD Operations Office, and time spent as Deputy State Director for USDA Rural Development in Louisiana. As Deputy State Director, he worked diligently to facilitate community improvement for rural communities across the state, collaborating directly with rural communities on thought leadership and planning for success.

Originally from the rural town of Bastrop, Louisiana, Lee is a graduate of Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Lee also is a member of the Leadership Louisiana Class of 2012, and a graduate of the Delta Regional Authority’s Delta Leadership Institute Class of 2018, joining 50 other outstanding individuals as the region’s first certified Delta Innovators.
