Ellen Sabin is the founder of Watering Can Press (www.wateringcanpress.com) and the author of a series of award-winning books that “grow kids with character” including: The Giving Book, The Hero Book, The Special Needs Acceptance Book, The Autism Acceptance Book, The Healing Book, The Greening Book, The Healthy Body Book, The Nickels, Dimes, and Dollars Book, The Healing Heroes Book, The Imagine It Book, and The Celebrate Family Book.
She is a regular speaker at conferences and in communities on the topics covered in her books and also participates in hosting fun and engaging reading events for children with her books in communities across the country. Ellen applies her signature activity-style methodology to create new books when topics of importance to families and communities are identified to her by thought leaders and champions of issues.
Prior to her current focus, Ellen spent her career working with, and managing, non-profit public health organizations that served a range of social and community causes. She received her MPH degree from The Harvard School of Public Health, MPA from NYU, studied at the London School of Economics, and received her BA from Emory University.
