Diana Spencer is the Founder, Principal, and Managing Director at Advanced Philanthropy Solutions (APS), bringing nearly 20 years of CEO experience in leading a family philanthropy from its early stages to maturity. With a transition to an advisory and consulting practice, Diana specializes in helping individuals, family businesses, and foundations make a meaningful impact through their philanthropic giving.

At APS, Diana provides personalized guidance in research, organization strategic planning, grantmaking program development and implementation, evaluation procedures, board and staff development, event, and communication design, and builds a culture of trust. With a track record of managing assets totaling $222M and implementing evidence-based programs addressing key issues such as poverty, education, fellowships, workforce development, and biomedical research, Diana excels at aligning values and visions with philanthropic goals.

Diana is also a seasoned expert in board leadership, education, and development, ensuring that boards are well-equipped to not only effectively support their organization’s mission and goals, but to have deeper understanding of the challenges faced by nonprofits and the efforts and people they support.

Through her tenure leading a family philanthropy, Diana successfully implemented governing policies and best practices, establishing a solid foundation for the organization, and brought topical expertise to the Board. Following a challenging transition after the sudden passing of the family matriarch, Diana navigated the board through governance education and seamlessly transitioned leadership to the 2nd generation. She also spearheaded the establishment of the Next Generation program, guiding the education, election, and onboarding process for 3rd generation family members.
