Engaging Youth Peer Network: Orienting the Next Generation to Your Philanthropy’s Purpose

Facilitating conversations about wealth and philanthropy can be intimidating and challenging, but it is important to explain your philanthropic purpose to ground and inform next-generation youth in your work. Join us for an interactive discussion about engaging youth (ages 15–18) that will focus on the role of the staff members in this process. Attendees will join a breakout group to connect with peers and discuss:

  • Storytelling— How can you effectively partner with parents and/or grandparents to engage the next generation through stories?
  • Preparing and planning— What are the important inflection points to have crucial conversations on philanthropy?
  • Finding your place— As a non-family practitioner working in family philanthropy how do position yourself as a trusted partner to engage youth in their family’s philanthropy?

If you are not yet a member of the Engaging Youth Peer Network, you may join and be notified when registration for this event opens here. Please note that staff of community foundations, philanthropy-serving organizations, and nonprofits are not permitted to attend.

For this interactive meeting, we encourage attendees to join with webcams on. To help foster candid discussions, peer network events are not recorded.
