2024 Partner Program Series: Trends in Family Philanthropy

Join us for a virtual gathering of NCFP network partners to explore insights from the Trends in Family Philanthropy 2025 report. Conducted every five years, this report tracks and analyzes evolving trends within family philanthropy, offering data and insights to inform strategic decisions for donor families.

During this session, we will examine the main findings from the report and delve into issues specific to those who support giving families including:

  • Foundation Identity—Changes in asset sizes, areas of focus, and decisions on lifespan.
  • Grantmaking Shifts—Changes in funding priorities and grantmaking practices, payout rates, and shifts towards community-centered giving.
  • Governance and Decision-Making—Changes in governance practices, board composition, and factors shaping decision-making processes within family foundations.
  • Family Engagement—How family dynamics are evolving, with new generational engagement and changing board structures.
  • Future Projections—Anticipated giving patterns and practices that could shape the family philanthropy landscape in the years to come.

The session will include a Q&A as well as small group discussions, allowing for deeper exploration of what these trends can mean for those who support donor families.

The Trends in Family Philanthropy 2025 report is a national survey capturing critical developments in family philanthropy, including shifts in funding priorities, innovative practices, and emerging issues.
