The Advisor Pages:
Supporting Philanthropy and Enhancing Your
Client Relationship

WELCOME FROM THE PRESIDENT
The National Center welcomes wealth advisors to its Advisors’ Web Pages! Advisors are essential partners in our work helping donors and families establish and develop their philanthropy. Advisors have the capacity to engage donors in meaningful discussions of giving goals and options and to provide critical counsel to donors.

The National Center offers advisors in all specialties—law, finance, investment, wealth counseling, family counseling, planned giving, and other fields—the best information, research, and materials to help them support their clients’ philanthropic goals. We are also pleased to support those advisors seeking to provide philanthropic services for their clients.

A good place to begin browsing our Advisors’ Web Pages is to review two pieces that summarize the range of motivations and interests of philanthropic donors and the critical role that donors see advisors playing in their charitable activities. These pieces are The Donor Advisor: The Role of the Advisor in Family Philanthropy and the Q&A Advisor—Donor Motivations, Interests, and Challenges.

You will also find here descriptions of guidebooks that are the National Center’s most popular publications for advisors and their clients.  Our most recent major publication, Splendid Legacy: The Guide to Creating Your Family Foundation, was designed for donors and advisors as a comprehensive roundup of the technical and personal issues such as mission, values, and family involvement that are critical to setting up effective family foundations. Advisors of all types are using Splendid Legacy for their own education and reference and as a gift for clients.

Finally, these pages offer a select list of links to associations and other resource groups that help advisors in specialized fields to find resources and information to help them work with clients on charitable goals.

As a nonprofit organization that values and encourages all philanthropic vehicles and options, the National Center offers substantive and objective information about many of the charitable choices available to donors and families. We hope that you will rely on us as you position yourself to support and encourage your clients in their philanthropy. If there are particular questions you have or ideas for resources or services that would be helpful to you, please let us know.

Best wishes,

Virginia Esposito
President
